The Tajima Group has established "Shanghai Tajima Embroidery Machinery Co., Ltd." as an independent corporation with its own capital in Shanghai, China and started production of embroidery machines there in May 2006 through factory construction, installation of production facilities, training of employees and others.

The opening ceremony was held on July 12, 2006 in this Shanghai factory as an part of these interactive events.
About 350 guests of local government officials, sales distributors, subcontracting companies etc. were present in this ceremony from 40 countries in the world. The factory preview tour was arranged after the opening ceremony to show the latest production facilities and production control process.
