From November 27 to 30, 2024, we participated in the International Apparel & Non-Apparel Production Technologies Exhibition, “JIAM 2024,” held in Osaka.
At the Tajima booth, under the theme “A Step Ahead of Innovation”, we presented the future of embroidery and decorative techniques from the perspective of ”Art & Science”, showcasing Tajima’s latest technologies to a wide range of visitors.

Exhibition Overview
JIAM is one of the world’s leading trade fairs specializing in cutting-edge production technologies. It serves as an international platform where domestic and international manufacturers gather to showcase their hardware, software, services, and solutions for the apparel and non-apparel industries.
Amid the global shift to a digital society, the apparel industry is embracing innovations such as AI and IoT to accelerate the creation of smart factories and high value-added products. Area 1: Design Innovation
Discovering the Charm of Embroidery as Art
Under the theme “The Charm of Embroidery as Art”, we introduced the works of the embroidery art brand &T and Slovenia-based Ercigoj Art. Both featured vibrant, artistic embroidery pieces, highlighting the unique appeal of embroidery as an art form. The showcase received an overwhelming response from visitors!

Square Artwork: “Butterfly Camouflage”
This piece explores the concept of “multiplicity,” depicting camouflage patterns that change their appearance depending on the viewer’s perspective.
Circular Artwork: “Circulation Vol.3 L.P”
With the theme of “circulation,” this work reflects on nature and the creation of sustainable cycles, encouraging a broader view of our environment.
Both pieces were crafted on velvet fabric, which is notoriously difficult for embroidery, and incorporated vegan leather made from apple and bamboo, showcasing sustainability in design.

Accelerating In-Store Embroidery Personalization Services
Under the theme of “Creating New Value in the Market through Embroidery,” we introduced the potential of embroidery as a business opportunity in new markets. In recent years, embroidery personalization services in retail stores have garnered increasing attention. At this event, we unveiled our unique new concept, “Project Facile.”
What is Project Facile?
This innovative concept not only leverages the advanced functionality of Tajima embroidery machines but also focuses on streamlining operational systems. It enables even staff with no prior embroidery experience to easily offer embroidery services in-store.
The machine is designed to make embroidery a delightful and engaging experience for customers, creating a memorable service. By combining Tajima’s cutting-edge embroidery technology with fresh ideas, Project Facile unlocks new possibilities for retail businesses, enhancing customer engagement and driving sales growth.
[Coming Soon] The Advanced Embroidery Digitizing Software “DG17”
Tajima’s latest embroidery digitizing software, “DG17”, is a powerful tool that allows users to create unique and beautiful embroidery designs with incredible ease. Designed to cater to all skill levels, from beginners to professionals, DG17 offers a wide array of features.
From intricate and delicate designs to bold and artistic creations, DG17 expands the possibilities of original embroidery, empowering users to bring their ideas to life effortlessly. Stay tuned for this next-generation embroidery digitizing software that redefines embroidery design!
Area 3: Technology Innovation
Tajima leverages proprietary AI and digital technologies to achieve “Stable Production of High-Quality Embroidery” and “Production Visualization.” In this area, we showcased solutions tailored to our customers’ business needs, supporting efficient embroidery operations through innovations in both embroidery machines and digitizing software. Tajima’s AI-powered embroidery machines drew significant interest from attendees!
The new multi-head flat-type model, TMEZ-VF, designed for mass production, was presented as a reference exhibit. This model includes advanced threading mechanisms for superior performance, an upper thread hook sensor for improved precision, and a straight-compatible presser foot that allows embroidery closer to the frame edges. These features deliver uniform embroidery results, even for large-scale production.
The TMEZ series also featured the TMEZ-KC multi-head cylinder type and the TMEZ-SC single-head cylinder type. These models demonstrated dynamic 3D embroidery designs on polyurethane foam of varying thicknesses and showcased textures created with the optional multi-cording device for sagara embroidery. These innovations highlighted Tajima’s capability to handle diverse embroidery needs with precision and creativity.
Area 4: Connection Business Innovation
With PulseIQ Central, you can not only monitor the operational status of embroidery machines but also receive alerts for machine stoppages, such as thread breaks, via a dedicated app or email. The management interface can also be customized based on individual roles and operational needs.
By managing embroidery data in the cloud, users can instantly access the required data whenever production is needed. As a company that includes a software division within its group, Tajima is uniquely positioned to provide optimal solutions tailored to customer needs, combining the strengths of both software and hardware.
Area 5:Tajima Role as Platformer
The final area showcased examples of how embroidery technology is being expanded into diverse fields for a future-oriented society. Tajima is proposing the application of its embroidery technology beyond the apparel industry, extending its use to sectors such as mobility and interior design. Additionally, the company is exploring ways to go beyond traditional embroidery applications, embracing broader decorative techniques such as printing and engraving to redefine the concept of “adornment.”
This exhibit highlighted Tajima’s efforts to break free from conventional frameworks, using decoration to create a richer and more exciting society. It expressed Tajima’s vision for the future, where innovation in decoration leads to new possibilities and inspiration across industries.
